37 thousand of tourists visited Tuva last year

Tourists are mostly interested in historical monuments, healing lakes, nature reserves, shamanism and the phenomen of Tuvan throat singing (hoomey), as reported by regional ministry of economic affairs, at the same time not stating the income Tuva had from tourists last year.

Tuva government consider that by 2020 the number of tourists will increase up to 130 thousand people a year. For this, it is planned to build a range of facilities, particularly, a four star hotel and 6 holiday camps. They are supposed to be located at healing lake Dus-Khol, in nature reserve ‘Ergaki’, at lake Tere-Khol, at ski centre ‘Taiga’, and also at the place where the famous Scythian mounds were found. The majority of the projects must be finished by 2016.
