Over 48 billion roubles to protect Lake Baikal

 

This sum of money is calculated until 2020 and includes a complex of activities: building and reconstruction of about 60 sewal disposal plants, building of 13 recycling complexes and 49 refuse dumps. Starting from 2015, the modernization will deal with heat supply system – it is going to switch to eco-friendly technologies.

Part of the money will be used for utilizing harmful industrial wastes and reducing ecological damage at the former Dzhidinskiy tungsten plunt and Baikal cellulose and paper plant.

Starting from 2014 it is planned to develop specially guarded natural territories and preserve biodiversity. Particularly, it is expected to start a large-scale reconstruction of fish factories and take measures to preserve the number of Arctic cisco.
