‘S7 Airlines’ may start flights from Gorno-Altaysk to Moscow

‘S7 Airlines’ plan to start schedule flights from Gorno-Altaysk to Moscow at the end of May, 2012, as reported by Press Service of Altai Republic government.

After a large-scale reconstruction, the airport of Gorno-Altaysk opened at the beginning of November, 2011, however, schedule flights are now perfomed only to Novosibirsk. The renovated take-off runway allows to receive any Gorno-Altaysk flights.

As mentioned at Press Service, transport availability is a big problem for Altai. ‘Now if a tourist from Central Russia wants to go to Gorno-Altaysk, he first has to fly to Barnaul, and then go by car about 300 km more’, - stated an agency.

An exact opening date of these flights to Moscow and flight frequency are not known at the moment.
